FX Exposure

Understand overlapping currency positions

Use the calculator to inspect assumptions, not to predict returns or select trades.

Match your quantity units

Choose units or lots, then set 1,000, 10,000 or 100,000 units per lot. Check the contract size against your own account; the app cannot detect your broker’s settings.

Enter held positions

Choose a pair, direction and quantity. Fractional currency units are rejected. Currency balances are USD equivalents, not margin requirements.

Compare a proposed trade

Review added, reduced, offset or reversed balances. A net balance of zero does not remove fees, margin needs or other risks.

Check dates and decide whether to save

Read the reference date. Saving requires an explicit action and stays in this browser. Another person using the same browser may be able to read saved positions.

Scope & limitations

Reference rates are not live execution prices. Eight simplified currency scenarios are not a loss bound, forecast, VaR model or execution simulation. Spreads, fees, financing and margin are excluded.

Your data

Calculations run in your browser. Only explicit saving writes validated held positions to localStorage. There is no cross-device sync, brokerage credential storage or saved candidate trade.

Questions before you start

Does FX Exposure generate trading signals?

No. It explains currency overlap and the effect of specified hypothetical moves.

What happens when an update fails?

If reference rates cannot be loaded, no result is produced. Old reference dates are flagged. Reference rates are not current execution prices.
